RockSTAR Basic Operations
Turning ON and OFF :
- Turn ON your device by holding the OK button for 10 seconds. Leave in view of the sky for approx. two minutes to gain a satellite fix.
- Turn OFF your device by pressing OK to access main menu and scroll down and select “Deactivation” in the main menu. Press OK again to confirm.
Device status :
- NOT ACTIVE : This status means the device is not active to track, message or send out emergency alerts
- ACTIVE : If your device displays "RockSTAR" on the screen it means it is ACTIVE for tracking, messaging and sending out emergency alerts
Distress alerts :
- Trigger SOS : Lift the plastic flap at the base of the unit and hold the RED for 5 seconds to trigger an SOS. This will notify your ICE contacts.
- Cancel SOS : Press OK to enter the Main Menu. Scroll down to Alerts and press OK. Scroll down to Send Alert Cancel using the button and press OK.
Tracking :
- Press OK to access the Main menu, scroll to “Tracking” and press OK. Press OK on “Status” and select with ON /OFF and press OK.
Send Manual Report :
- Press / hold the UP button for 2 seconds this will prompt the Device to obtain an immediate GPS fix and transmit the position immediately.
Messaging :
- Press OK to access the Main menu, scroll to “Messaging” and press OK. Send a message to an existing and non existing contact.
RockSTAR Charging
RockSTAR’s have an internal battery. Unscrew the cap from the bottom to reveal the USB port. The device can only be charged using a mini-USB. The battery life varies depending on the usage. ~2000 tracking reports can be generated on a full single charge.
