Sharing Assets in TracPlus Cloud

In TracPlus Cloud, our customers can now easily share assets with an existing TracPlus Customer/guest account or a government authority/group such as AFAMs or NAFC.

 

To navigate to the Sharing section, click on the Sharing iconon the lefthand side of the screen.


NOTE: Only users with Administrator privileges are able to share assets.



Sharing an asset

In Sharing section, you can view the assets that are been already shared by your organisation with another organisation with a TracPlus account or a government agency. To share an asset follow the steps given below:


  1. Navigate to Sharing section on the lefthand side of the screen (3rd icon).
  2. To create a new share, click on the “Create Share” button next to the search bar.
  3. Select an asset that you wish to share from the drop-down menu.

  4. Select which group or organisation you want to share your asset with. 

    1. If you are unable to Find the other Organisation, then you would need to add them as a Friend first via their public key.

  5. Select the permissions you want to enable for this particular organisation/group.

    • View live trails: This will allow the user to see your live tracking data.  

    • View historical trails: This will give the user access to all of your device’s trails, both current or historic.
    • Configure Device: This will allow the user to make changes to the device (tracking rates etc).

    • Send and view text messages: This will give the user, the ability to send text messages to the shared device and view ALL messages getting sent to and from that device.

  6. Create Share.


Once you are done you will be able to see the device and organisation whom you just shared the asset with. One asset can also be shared between multiple organisations and groups.

Shared with Me

On the “Shared With Me” section within the Sharing page, you can see a list of assets that are shared with you. It contains information about the device name, make/model of the asset, the assigned device, the TracPlus serial number, the owner and finally the level of access you have to view that device. 


By hovering the Green bars located in Access column for any device will show you the access you have.
